Standing . .. .Almost

The past week has been full of vistors and fun adventures. First, my little cousins came for a visit. Well, everyone else said they were little but at 6 and 7 they seemed pretty big to me. I also talked and played with Rebecca, but Mommy got mad when I tried to climb in the bouncer with her. Mommy, I thought there would be room for two.

I also had fun greeting folks. I greated Daddy with a dirty diaper when he got back from his trip. That part wasn't special, but saying the word dirty for him was. Aunt Breana was also suprised when I told her the food she gave me was yummy.

Finally, I showed Mommy and the rest of the bookclub that I could stand up on my own. Mommy sure was suprised because it was the first time I did it for her. Here is a picture of me gettting ready to stand. It's hard to take a picture of me standing because I fall over quickly. But I hope to be running soon! Then it will be easier to have more adventures.

Karate Kid

People keep making faces at me, and of course I want to make faces back. Here's my newest look--Karate Kid Victoria. Grandma S taught me the face, but I made up the stance all by myself.

my posse

You looking at me? Are YOU looking at me? Aint no one else here, you must be looking at me.

That's right I'm a tough guy and don't you forget it! You see de other day we wuz playing at the library, the Mommy and I, when a big bully came over and try to steal everyone's toys. Well I couldn't stand for dat. So I get me two other kids, yuh see, and when I gave the signal all three of us pounce on the girl. Oh we didn't hurt her I assure you, but she'll think twice before stealing toys again.

I REALLY like carrots!

Hi, everybody! I know you've been reading about how much I like to eat lately, and that's the truth. It's like my leg got hollow or my stomach became a bottomless pit. Earlier this month Grandma S was visiting and Mommy decided to feed me carrots. My Mommy and my Grandma were talking and before they both knew it, Mommy fed me the entire jar. Of course, as you can tell by the photo, I helped her along a little. Yummy for the tummy, they were really, really good.

A Long, Long Time Ago..

There lived a giant. A Baby giant , who liked to sing a song:

Crush , crush, crush your bones
And make them into stew.
I'm the baby giant!
And I will eat you.

She lived in the land of Giants, where everything is big. The land is known only as Texas. There, in that big land, she had many big adventures. She would crush bowls of cherrios and devour entire chickens. Her hunger had no end. Well no end until she ran into the Mommy. You see only the Mommy could appease this giant appetite. Only the mommy could keep the giant at bay and keep us all safe.

The End

P.S. Thanks to Aunt Breana and Uncle Matthew for watching me while Mommy and Daddy went out. They have been married 3 years.

Giggles

Hehehehe. I've been giggling all day. Oh what a day it was. Aunt Breana and Mommy took me to the library and we got to sing all crazy songs. That Aunt Bre is so sweet. Next Daddy came home and he tickled' me, and tickled me and tickled me. The man has no mercy. He just wanted to see me giggle. So I did -- well I had to appease the man. Anyway -- I learned its a pretty good day when you can laugh all the way through it.

For the Children

Hi Folks. No I know we have lots of fun on this website, but I'd like to take a moment to be serious. Now I'm a pretty lucky baby, healthy and all that jazz, but there are babies who ain't that lucky. Sometimes they are born before they are ready and this can lead to so many problems. Now I don't like this one bit, so Daddy, Mommy and I are gonna do something about it! On May 13, just 1 day after my birthday, we're planning to walk. You see the good folks at March of Dimes are holding a walk in Austin to help these poor kids, and I'm all in even if I do still need to be pushed in my stroller. Now Daddy has taught me not to beg, but please help me help these kids. Below is link to a website where you can donate. It doesn't have to be much, every little bit helps. I thank you and Mommy and Daddy thank you.

Hungry Baby

Hello, Don't really have too much to say, except I am back in health and eating like there is no tomorrow. I have discovered a great love of the snow pea. And there's always my old favorite chicken. Mommy says it is to get my weight back. Daddy says I have inherited the Muller appetite. Either way I sure do enjoy eating lately. By the way, whats's this picture have to do with my appetite? Nothing, I just like it! Talk to you later...Baby out!

Signs

Well as some of ya'll know I've been sick. Mommy and Daddy and I went to the emergency room on Saturday morning because I had a 103 temp. and was quite sick to my stomach. My follow up visit with my own doctor revealed that I lost almost a pound. That's about 7% of my body weight. That rottavirus is no fun.

However, I'm now on the mend. That's good cause I've missed my friend Rebecca's visits. She was ill also, but not as bad as me.

Since I haven't felt like standing or crawling much I've decided to work on my communication skills. I've been able to say hi, momma, and dada for quite some time, but now I can make the signs for bottle, eat, and more. Momma thinks I might have made the sign for dirty also, but mostly I just crawl to the changing table when I want a new diaper.

As evidence of my signing abilty, this picuture is me making the eat sign. Aren't I cool?

Check this out

I learned how to use the cup holder on daddy's 'puter. I just press a button and out it pops! Hmm I wonder if it can hold my bottle. Better test it first. Lets see what happens when I pull down hard on it. I see.. daddy gets upset when I pull down hard. Hehe he sure is funny. Oh well I best let his toy be. I wouldn't want him to play with my toys...

Daddy's Birthday

Daddy had a birthday about a week ago. We went to eat at his favorite restaurant in the Austin area. It has a really funny name--The Salt Lick. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a salt lick a big block of salt you put out for cows? Hmmm--does that mean we only got to eat salt? Not what you'd call a healthy diet, for sure!

Anyway, we had to wait and wait and wait to get a table. It was cold outside, too. Aunt Bre and Uncle Matthew were there and so were Grandma & Grandpa S. Marta joined us later. Most people ordered the family style meal which meant they just kept bringing the food. Mommy got a turkey sandwich and she was nice enough to share with me. They got dessert, but I didn't get any of it, much to my chagrin.

Afterwards we all went outside and it was dark. Since it was my first trip ever to the Salt Lick, we got our picture taken out by the sign. Daddy said we should celebrate my birthday there and that way we wouldn't have to wait another year to go back. The turkey was good, but we'll see. I have a little time left to make up my mind where I want to go for my birthday.

These Darn Teeth!

Let me tell you, these teeth are the bane of my existence. All I want to do is chew and bite and gnaw and drool. It isn't much fun and even gets in the way of my sunny personality sometimes.

I did, however, find a new way to ease my mouth a bit. You know those funny plastic things that they try to stick in your mouth and make you suck when what you really want to do is howl when you are a baby? I think they're called pacifiers. Anyway, they didn't fool me long and I wouldn't suck on them, but now that I'm almost nine months old they make GREAT chew toys! There's a plastic ring to bite and a nipple to bite and a plastic mouthpiece to bite. Relief!

Monkey Business

Daddy tried to scare me today with a talking monkey. Yeah you heard me right, a talking monkey. Well he must not have been vey nice to the monkey, cause he pulled a string and it let out a scream. But instead of scaring me it made me laugh. I ask you, what's funnier than a talking monkey? Nothing as far as I'm concerned.

Well There is some excitement here in the old homstead. It appears that the Olympics are coming in just over a week. To celebrate I made the design of 5 interlocking rings. But then my teeth started to hurt and I needed a teething ring. Oh well so much for the 5 rings of peace! Anyway Mommy and Daddy seem quite excited since its only a week away. I'll keep you posted. Don't worry I'll keep you updated on yours truly as well. Since I won't stop growing up for noone. Oh, and I can kneel now See -------------->

What? Whatchyou talking bout Daddy? this is my chair. who says you can give it away? Hmph....

Of course on the other hand it is kinda small and I got really cool new toys to play with. And sharing is a pretty neat, Besides I can always play on the ottoman...

Grean Beans and Galletas

Ahhh Grean beans what can be said of this garden deliticable?

They are fun and I like to eat them! Sure, but there is so much more. I mean have you ever eaten grown-up food? It's a trip. The flavors, the textures, the crunchies. Oh I like it so much more than plan old baby food (bananas are yummy thoug). I know I'm just a baby, but I loves to chew on the adult stuff. I have six teeth, how many more do I need? I think I have more than Grandpa M. Gimmie my veggies and meats. Oh I love the meats even more than I love green beans.

And those Girl-Scout things that Daddy keeps eating what does he call them -- Coookies? I wonder what they taste like. Think they are any good? Lucas, el monstruo comegalletas, who I watch on Plaza Sesamo sure thinks so. I don't get to eat any of those though. Sigh. Maybe someday.

Blocks

I love to knock them down. They make good chew toys also.
