Shoes, Anyone?

OK, it's time for a true confession. I thought I hated shoes, but I found some that are pretty interesting residing in the living room. Now Mom and Dad and Grandma have been trying to get me to put the things on for months now. I pretty much have refused, but someone left theirs sitting in the living room today and they sure caught my fancy. Did I go for the petite sandals belonging to my cousin Brittney--not a chance. I picked up the heaviest pair in the place, but they were a pretty blue (on the other side) and you could wear them between your toes. Wow, maybe when I grow into them I'll want to wear shoes.

A New CAR!

Folks, check out my new wheels. Mommy and Daddy took me to this ToysRUs place -- nothin but toys, can you believe it. Anyway they decided it was time to get my first car. Its a sleek little number, with a yellow finish. I'm still haveing a problem getting it in reverse. As a matter of fact, don't tell Mommy or Daddy, but I think I might like an SUV model. Check it out!

Smile!

Hey kids, VictoriaJ here. Just blogging on to say HI! Now's the time when you expect some clever story right? Well trust me Daddy had a story all ready to go. It was very funny. At least he thinks it was. But I said to him, "Daddy! enough of your shennaigans! Lets give the people what they want! They want the big blues and the shining whites!" then I flashed the big guy my best smile and he clicked away. Hopefully you will be pleased by the results especially my two new teeth. Sometimes a smiling baby beats out anything Daddy can come up with. Don't worry we'll will be back tomorrow with more misadventures.

Dancing Trio

Well, just look at us! We're the dancing princesses! Don't we look like we're having fun in our purple leotards? I love having big girl cousins around. I'm always entertained when they are here. We laugh and hug and kiss and play and sing and eat and they even keep me occupied so a grown up can change my diaper. . .well, most of the time.

Edited by Da Mole2 to say: Happy Birthday Grandma S.!

The Old Ballgame

Hi all, sorry to not have posted in nearly a week, but I have been VERY busy. We had company this weekend and had so many adventures I had no time to write!! But now that things have quieted down I can get back to my blog! A good place to start would be the ball game we went to on Saturday. Mind you we could have went on Friday when some guy named Roger Clemens was pitching, but who wants to see a living legend? THANKS Mom and Dad. Anyway, we had a great time watching the regular Express players; perhaps the next Clemens was pitching? Probably not though cause there were an awful lot of homeruns being hit. Fireworks were shot off every time it happened. I like fireworks, I hope there is a holiday soon where I can see some more. Overall, we had a great time at the game, with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Breana, Uncle Matt, Ashlee, Brittney, Auntie Brenda, Daddy, Mommy and OF COURSE VictoriaJ.

Oh Boy, Oh Boy I'm getting a new car seat today. No more baby seat for me. I get the big girl seat. Once we get this baby in the car THIS baby is gonna cruise the town. C'mon Daddy get it out I wanna try it. Here we go! Owwwww I don't know it's so big. uhhhh I'm scared! Daddy get me out ! It's too big! It's too big! Wahhhhhhh.

Dear reader we apologize for the shocking scene you just witness, but not all adventures end in smiles. Don't worry VictoriaJ will be back again with a grin on her face.

Cmon Daddy stop typing and let me out I want my old seat.....

Goooooooaaaaallllll!

Hey kids guess what! Its Soccer time! That's right Mommy, Daddy, and I are enjoying the World Cup. But not just on TV, I'm getting into the game myself. Seeing as I can walk around now; oh yes, walking is a fine thing. Daddy lets me kick the ball and then yells "Goooooaaaaaallll" Daddy sure is a strange man. I'm sorry the ole US of A was handed a loss today -- maybe they needed Victoria J. in the midfield....

Another Beautiful Texas Evening

Oh, it was a beautiful June day in Texas--HOT! Mommy and Daddy decided it was too hot to cook, so they called up Grandma & Grandpa S and Uncle Matthew and Aunt Bre-Bre and away we went to meet for dinner. We went to this neat old house and got one of the upstairs bedrooms all to ourselves! It was great. We could make as much noise as we wanted, so we did.

Somebody at the restaurant was a smart alec and kept playing the same old Jimmy Buffet song over and over and over. It was something about some girl named Margarita, I think. She had a town named after her called Margaritaville and it was hard to understand since part of it was in Spanish. Anyway, Daddy caught on first and then some others and we asked the waitress about it. She started laughing and said the guy had played the song for three hours and nobody had said anything. They turned it off in our room, but it kept playing and playing in the rest of the joint.

After dinner we went down to watch the orange fish and the white fish in the pond that's behind Mommy, Ashlee, Brittney and me. As you can see, we're having a pretty good time. Talk to you later!

The Cousins Are Back!

Yipee! I have two new playmates. Ashlee and Brittney came to live with Grandma & Grandpa S this week. They came to Austin to visit me and we had very, very fun time. They like to climb in my tent and play with me. I like to crawl over to them and climb up into their laps. We played with Lilly and sang the counting song. Maybe they will go swimming with me sometime. Oh, check out their hair. It is great for pulling!

Ice Cream and Mr. Smarty Pants

Last night Mommy, Daddy, and I went to the library for the Summer Reading Kickoff Party. Now I don't understand why they are having a kickoff party when I've already read 54 books but who cares. There were lots of kids (I talked to two very nice girls) and they had ice cream! Where has this wonderful food been my entire life? When can I have more?

But the day was not perfect because of one Mr. Smarty Pants. I'm not being disrespectful, Mommy said that was his name. He was supposed to entertain us kids. In fact, he encouraged all the kids to shout. Well, I guess I must have shouted at the wrong time because he asked me to leave. I never. If I didn't like that library so much, I'd lodge a complaint. At least I got to finish my ice cream.

Uh-Ohhhh

Yeah, do we really need a story for this on? You'll be happy to know that mother and child are doing fine. The plant, however did not make it through the night... Well it's not like the pot was a unique handmade Christmas gift from a dear friend ( sorry Ms. Marta) Kids! What can you do?

Monkey Girl

That's right, during the day you may know me as Victoria J., mild mannered toddler. But at night I change into my secret disguise and become MONKEY GIRL!; Defender of all babydom. With my sidekick (the dolly), I protect the world from the evil genius-- The Tickler. If only his genius could be used for good, but instead the Tickler (aka Daddy) tracks me down in attempts to capture our heroine. When he captures me he subjects me to the worse torture possible (I'm sure you guesed by now) Tickling! The man is relentless. Luckily with my monkey cape (given to me by the Granny), I have been able to escape and foil his rotten plans --- which really seems to be just the tickling. I'm not sure he has any motive...Surely though his plot is to remove me to spread his tickling madness around the world. Fear not true believers, for as long as there is the dastardly Tickler, Monkey Girl will be around to stop him.

Uncle Matthew's Birthday

Yesterday we celebrated my Uncle Matthew's birthday. He just told everyone he wanted sausage, so Daddy fired up the grill and cooked brats and kibasa and some type of German sausage. The best part wasn't the meat, though. Have you ever heard of this stuff called meringue? Wow! Instead of a birthday cake with frosting, we had cheesecake and a Boston creme pie that was topped with the stuff. It was ever so delicious. I just kept wanting more and more and more. It sure made me smile. Mommy had to eat a second piece to get her share. She didn't give me the bottom layer, but the merigue was wonderful. I was such a good girl I even cleaned up after myself.

Mort and Me

After my birthday, Mommy and I went to visit Grandma and Grandpa S for a few days. We sure had fun. Mort likes to chase things, and sometimes I'm one of the things he chases. He has lots of toys, just like me, but Mommy doesn't like it when I chew on his toys. She says they are just for Mort. Do you call that fair? I'd share my toys.

Anyway, one of the games he likes best is fetch. That dog will fetch darn near anything someone throws for him. Here I am trying to throw his ball on a rope. I love Mort!

New Toys

Well, I haven't written in a few days -- but for good reason. I can't believe I'm saying this, but too many toys! Don't get me wrong I love my new ball and frog and tent! But what's a girl to do?? I don't have time to play with them all, but I sure am having fun trying. Oof it's tough being the baby -- but Fun!

Mopping

Oh boy did I make a mess tonight! Mommy feed me beets and I got them all over the place. And all over me. If Daddy sees this he won't be happy. I better be quick and mop up this mess. Hey how does this mop thing work anyway?????

Another Party Picture

Oh, I forgot to tell you about another neat birthday party tradition, and that's the fact that the presents often come in bags or are wrapped in--you guessed it--fun paper! I got to play and play with the stuff. At Christmas when we opened presents I wasn't sure what to do with it, but now that I'm a big one year old, you can bet your bippy I am havin' fun!

Victoria's Birthday Party

Wow! Do you know about this thing called a birthday party? It's actually kind of fun and scarey at the same time. There were a lot of grownups there, but Rebecca got to come, too. Daddy went to a place called a bakery and picked up some frosted cupcakes. He got blue ones for the guys and pink for us girls. As you can see, Mommy had to help me taste it to begin with. I wasn't exactly sure what to do, but I did get into the spirit of the day! Grandma S says I'm a two-fisted cake eater now.

I wish everyone could have been with us on Saturday. Thanks for the really cool stuff, everybody. I got lots of neat things to learn with and play with.

One Year Old--What a Day

My day started very early, but I had to see Daddy before he left for work, right? It takes me a while to wake up though.

As we do most Fridays, Mommy and I went to the bookclub at the library. I love to play with the xylophone and the drum.

After my nap, Mommy and I had lunch on the patio.

Next, I went to the doctor's office for my one-year checkup. I'm kinda on the small side (18.3 pounds) and short (28 inches), but at least my head is still in the 50% percentile. Here I am waiting for the nurse to give me shots. There was an emergency with another baby and we had to wait a while. I found plenty of stuff to play with though.

Later, Mommy and Daddy and I went to the Olive Garden. It was to celebrate my day and Mother's Day. However, the waiter messed up and brought out Mommy's order with Tomatoes. I told Mommy not to worry that she could have some of my chicken.

Last, Mommy said I'll be having a party tomorrow, but that I could open one special present tonight. Look, it's my friend Lilly or esta mi amiga Lilly.

That's it for now, we'll post birthday party pictures on Monday.

The Front Yard

Can you see the white winged dove sitting on her nest? This morning I heard baby chirps, but haven't seen anything yet.

Here's an anole on the front of the house. This is the female.

Can you spot the snake in the picture. It's a little blurry, but I had to go inside before I could get a better picture.

Outside the Front Door

Well since I'm almost one, I decided to see what was outside my front door. So I said goodbye to Mommy and Daddy and crawled away. It was cold and wet and I had so many (3) steps to crawl down. But at last, I was outside. Tomorrow I'll post all of the animals I saw.

Blondes and Brunettes

Who said blondes have more fun? Lemme tell ya I hung out with a pair of Brunettes on Saturday night and they were a riot! Mind you they were a bit younger than me, so I had to show them the ropes. You know how to sit up (Elena, the baby I'm touching in the picture, already knew this one), crawl and all the other crazy baby stuff. It was Parteeee, with a capital P. We were all over the house drinking up a storm. Man I've never seen that much formula fly. Mind you Rebecca was hitting the hard stuff-- out of the freezer, if you know what I mean. It was all fun and all, but then I met this older mature man by name of David, who was all of 6! Well I don't wanna imply I followed him around on my hands and knees, but I kinda followed him around on my hands and knees. He had wonderful moves, I might want to also take karate when I'm older. It was all good clean fun mind you, I'm not even a year old .....yet!
